All is going well here in Timika, on the easter part of the island of Papua. The group arrive very early in the morning after a flight from Bali. Today was spent mostly just relaxing and getting caught up with sleep. After a breakfast at the hotel, and some sleep in the morning, the group went to the ministry office to check in with the officials and then made a quick stop in the market.
The plan is to fly on the heli in the morning, weather dependent, so tonight is just dinner and weighing baggage for the trip to the airport in the morning. The first day of the trip is spent just relaxing in base camp after doing a big jump up in altitude, with just some basic walks around to move. The following day is for acclimatization and practice on the lower ropes of the route. Then the group is ready to go, so lets hope for some good weather and see.
