Happy Holidays from near the South Pole!
Our Last Degree ski trip team is finally out on the ice. A two day weather delay at Union Glacier camp was quite crazy when it comes to weather in those parts. Very strong wind gusts for a few days along with a massive amount of blowing snow, kept the group indoors and hanging out for some rest time.
Today they flew 2.5 hours to the Thiels corner fuel depot and then another 2 hours toward the South Pole. They were dropped there by the Twin Otter aircraft at 89* South Latitude. There are 5 skiers along with Polar Guide Ryan Waters, more to come!
