December 11, 2018 | It’s official, our team of climbers has not only successfully summited the tallest peak in Antarctica in good style and time but now is back safe in Union Glacier camp. While some climbers are preparing to board the plane and head home, a select few have opted to stay. The remaining climbers will shed their crampons for skis and begin their ski tour of the last degree to the South Pole.
It was an incredible expedition with an all-star group of climbers who as a team did a fantastic job to overcome the difficulties of life while on an expedition. Many will look at their photos when they return and see the highlights of an incredible trip. This isn’t always the reality.
Expeditions like these take determination, a strong will to persevere when your body wants to give up and a grit to thrive in adverse conditions. The creature comforts we become too accustomed to are stripped of us in these environments and the harsh elements become a crucible where your actions are all that matter.
Join us in congratulating the Vinson V1 expedition on their summit and most importantly, their safe return.
For our select remaining climbers, now skiers, the adventure wages on as the forge towards the South Pole on one of the most remote places on earth. We will keep you up to date as that expedition unfolds.
STAY TUNED!
