We send a big hello from the group here which has reached Namche Bazar. We have had a smooth progression so far, we were lucky to be able to fly out from Kathmandu on the morning of the 4th. Due to airport construction, many groups were forced to travel by road for 3 hours to another town in able to fly to Lukla but we got out of Kathmandu early in the morning directly. We had a smooth flight up to the beautiful hills and landed in Lukla, catching our first close up views of the Himalayas. On the first day we made the casual trek over to Phakding and had a nice first night up in the hills at the Sherpa Guide Lodge. A few card games and some hot drinks which is the standard teahouse evening!
Yesterday was business as usual for the trek up to Namche, leisurely stroll up the trail and check into the Sagarmartha National Park and then we were off up the hill to Namche and enjoyed visiting the new Stupa at the base of the town before hitting up the Sherpa Barista coffee shop for some cake and good Cafe..So all is well here for the night, we will take a rest day tomorrow and enjoy a hike up to the overlook area where we hope to get our first view of Everest as well as the many other amazing mountains such as Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and many more.
